August was still a good month even though my numbers were down.  Looking at this is both good and bad.  First, my Amazon numbers were right where they were the previous month.  $1.26 isn’t much variance which means that’s a good thing.  That indicates that the click throughs from my YouTube videos and from my primary review site are still doing their job.  The purchase rate from people going to Amazon from my affiliate links stay between 5 and 8% which is extremely good as any marketing person would tell you.

My Google Adsense numbers also came back up to their previous numbers which I was very happy to see.  The key with Google Adsense is the more people to your pages, the better.  My click through amounts are very low so the more clicks the better.  In this area, that means I need more reviews and I should really focus more attention on building backlinks to both my website as well as to my YouTube videos.  I’ll have to focus on putting more of my reviews up on Head-Fi.org as well as explore other high ranking sites to start spattering some links.

The bad – this is abundantly clear for anyone who looks through my previous earning.  I said it in my previous pages and I even identify that I need to start targeting my Bluehost affiliates and higher earning affiliates better.  Unfortunately I didn’t do anything to really push forward my Bluehost earnings this month and it shows.  It’s amazing to see that just two high earning affilate sales can drop my income by more than 25% but it’s a bit of an eye opener.  So, while my earnings from my Headphone Review site are staying consistent, my efforts with Untethered Income did not…and, again, that’s my fault.  That’s something I’ll have to fix in the coming months.  This boils down to time and making a better work flow for myself so I can spend more time on this site and my earnings.
